Stephanie Garcilazo

Hi, I’m Stephanie and I’m a 4th year undergrad majoring in Psychology working towards a Sociology minor! I am currently working with Shannon on her dissertation project here at the ER Lab. My future goals are to further my education and attend graduate school to pursue a career in either of my two main interests which are school psychology or clinical social work. Outside of school and work, I love going to the beach, sightseeing different places, and hitting new coffee shops.

 

Cece Johnson

Hi! I’m Cece, a 3rd year undergrad pursuing a BA in Psychology with a minor in English. I am currently working with Shannon on her dissertation project. I’m particularly interested in relationships and childhood development, and hope to continue gaining research experience and further my education after graduating. My hobbies include journaling, planning my outfits, and going on long walks with earbuds in and thoughts flowing. 

 

Brynna Marich

Hi! My name is Brynna and I recently graduated with my BA from UC Riverside in psychology with a minor in education. I plan on gaining research experience for a few years before pursuing a PhD in clinical psychology. My main research interests include psychopathology, attachment, and addiction. Currently, I am working with Shannon to collect data for her dissertation. In my free time I enjoy running, traveling, and being a dog mom!

 

Michelle Nguyen

Hello! My name is Michelle and I’m a 4th year Psychology student with a minor in Organizational Behavior. I’m currently working under Shannon for her dissertation and am learning so much as a research assistant! I’m looking to pursue a career in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, where I want to work towards creating diverse and inclusive work environments. My interests include cafe hopping, social media marketing, discovering new music, and collecting blind boxes!

 

 

 


 

 

 

Bianis Salazar

Hi! My name is Bianis. I am a 4th-year Psychology major at UCR with a strong passion for neuropsychology, specifically in the area of neurodevelopmental disorders. I am currently working with Shannon on her dissertation. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym, rock climbing, and baking.

 

 

Camille-Faye

Mabuhay. Ang pangalan ko si Camille-Faye! Hello my name is Camille-Faye. I joined the lab as a Mentoring Summer Research Internship Program (Watch my talk!) mentee and then was formally invited Fall ‘24. I am currently working underneath Ricky and Dr. Davis doing projects that range from the economic burden of disease and my interest on intergenerational transmission of emotional regulation strategies and environments. I want to research why patterns continue, stop, and re/surface. Additionally, I am interested in changing policies on 5150s/5250s to help support children better. Alongside being an RA, I work at the Student Disability Resource Center on campus. When I am not burying myself in my beloved research and studies, I work on my commissions for photography headshots and practice my Japanese, Tagalog, and Bisaya. You can also find me traveling in the Spiral as a Myth Wizard! Salamat para sa pagbasa! 🙂

Emily Lee

Hello :> My name is Emily, and I am a 2nd year Psychology student with plans to double major in Ethnic Studies. I am currently working under Siyan with the EMOT-ECON project and have a research interest in parent-children relationships in single-parent households from Asian communities. In my free time, I enjoy scrapbooking, going to cafes, and LOVE playing Wordle and Connections! At home, I like to cuddle with my 3 cats, Scarlett, Rangi, Sky and my 2 dogs, Happy and Lucky.

1. Hi, my name is Theresa! I’m a 3rd year pursuing a BA in Psychology & Education, Society, and Human Development, with an emphasis on learning behaviors here at UCR. I’m currently working under Siyan for the EMOT-ECON project as a research assistant! I’m interested in learning more about behaviors, development, and emotions, which perfectly aligns with the content of this lab. I hope to work in the education field and help others, as I learn more about myself too, along the way. Hi friends! My name is Savannah and I’m a recent graduate with a double major in Psychology and Gender and Sexuality Studies. My main interests in the field fall under emotion and relationships, in every shape and form. I plan to enter the work force to gain greater understanding of those I eventually plan to work with as a licensed therapist, after gaining a higher degree. I’m currently working as a drumline coach at Great Oak High School and a bobarista at Sunright Tea Studio! When I’m not working or studying, I’m getting lost in one of my many worlds by gaming, writing, reading, traveling, photographing, watching films… I have too many interests…

Hello, my name is Cesar Perez and I am a fourth-year transfer student at UCR who is on track to receive a bachelor’s degree in psychology. I am working toward my goal of being accepted into a Ph.D. program with a focus on researching how cultural factors influence emotional regulation along with social cognition. My ultimate goal is to become a researcher at an R1 institution and pursue research in these subjects to better understand how these topics influence social outcomes. And in my free time, I enjoy playing jazz on my saxophone, listening to music, and taking my dog Oreo on walks.

 Hi, my name is Lorelei Bojanovich! I am a fourth-year Psychology major interested in learning more about emotion regulation in children and adolescents. Once I graduate, I plan to go to graduate school and get a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. Hi I’m Andrew, and I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. I plan on attending a PhD. program with the intention of working on research related to the Latino community and how cultural contexts and stigmas affect emotion regulation. My long-term goal is to become a researcher at a top psychology university and transition into the teaching field. When I am not at the lab, I enjoy going to the gym, film photography, and thrift shopping in different cities.

I’m Jayine and I’m a graduate! My research interests are emotion regulation, socioemotional development, and cultural studies especially related to Vietnamese Americans. Outside of the lab, I love makeup, fashion, listening to music, shopping, and playing video games with friends!

Gerardo Michel

Hi! My name is Gerardo Michel, and I’m a recently graduated psychology major and philosophy minor. In the future, I plan to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology so that I can do therapy, conduct research, and eventually teach! Currently, my research interests involve investigating the extent to which there is an interplay between emotion regulation, psychopathology, and a concept known as emotion differentiation. I’m interested in exploring whether emotion differentiation can improve emotion regulation and thus reduce symptoms of psychopathology in children and adolescents. When I’m not doing busy work, I’m probably playing indie video games, watching shows about cold cases, or spending time with my cat.

Hello! My name is Emilyn Malatag and I recently graduated from UC Riverside with a bachelor’s in Psychology. I am currently working as research assistant in Dr. Davis’ Emotion Regulation Lab and as a Behavior Therapist while pursuing to apply for doctorate programs in Clinical Psychology. My research focus is centered on working with children to better understand their world and their development. I am interested in studying trauma, aggression, psychopathology, parenting, relationships, emotions and well-being. Besides academia, I enjoy playing tennis, reading books, watching films, traveling, and spending time with my family and loved ones.

 

Magaly Sanchez

I’m Magaly, a graduated psychology major. I am a student research assistant in Dr. Davis’ Emotion Regulation Lab. I like to read up on research studies with youth and learn about how cultural contexts and family life influence their developmental trajectories. Outside of the lab, I work with infants and toddlers with disabilities and teach them many skills including Cognitive and Socio-Emotional skills. Lastly, for fun, I like to hang out with my cat and watch Grey’s Anatomy on repeat.
